Sorry, it's been such a long time since I posted anything. Bookwork was taken a lot of time the last couple months, with taxes and year end stuff. But that is mostly over now. Do have a couple of new pictures of Cole and Erica. They are starting to walk, so it has been fun. I am spending the weekend with them, so hopefully will get more pictures, if they aren't running around.

Aubyn is 1 year old today. She has had quite a week! Wednesday she had tubes put in her ears and last night we celebrated her birthday. She is a little girl on the go! She's not only walking, but she runs! She has been walking for a couple of months already, and will climb on anything and everything. She climbs the basement steps, but hasn't figured out how to go down a safe way by herself. She got a lot of new toys just 2 weeks after Christmas. She should never be bored! She made a total mess of her cake, and will have to learn that she needs to sit in her new rocker from Grandpa and Grandma, not stand.

Christmas Fun

We were able to celebrate Christmas as a family this past week-end. (Between storms)
Even though it was cold outside, we stayed warm eating and playing games. We thought we might have to all spend the night together Saturday night, but the winds let up and we were all able to get back home safely. This is a picture of al the grandkids. None of them like to sit still for very long, so this is the best we could do. They are all very active and lots of fun. Merry Christmas!

Thanksgiving Fun

We were able to have a little get away after Thanksgiving. Didn't get to do any Black Friday shopping, as I had to work. But after work we went to Ankeny. We got to eat ham and turkey, play with Trey, (Trey is making a paper chain to count down to Christmas) go to a movie, and enjoy some snow. Well, I don't know if enjoy is the right word. It was pretty to look at but it made for some nasty roads on the way home.

The Firefighter

One more Halloween picture. We were able to make a quick trip to Ankeny on Sunday and Trey put his custume on for us. As you can see, he was a firefighter. That reminds me of the movie we saw a couple of weeks ago, Fireproof. If you haven't seen it, go check it out! It is very good!!

A couple of years ago Breanna was so scared of clowns. Here she is a clown for Halloween! She was a cute clown! And she loved Trick or Treating. I went with her to a couple of places, and she ran from house to house. It was fun!

Cole and Erica are almost 8 months old. They are doing good. Erica has 2 teeth and is starting to crawl around. Cole crawls all over and I think he is teething. He has been not feeling well, the last few weeks. He has a cough and sometimes just wants to be held. He may be going to the Dr. today.

Golf Balls?

Trey gets out of school at 2:45, so to help pass time after school yesterday, we went hunting for golf balls. There is a golf course only a couple of blocks from here, so we walked over there and hunted in the ditches and on the edge of the course. We came back home with 46 golf balls. Our goal at first was 10, but we just kept on finding them. This morning I was a mystery reader for Trey's class. I got to go to school and read "If you give a Mouse a Cookie". Then the class got to ask questions to figure out who I was. It took about three guesses, and then someone asked if I was Trey's grandma. That was fun! We will soon be picking Trey up and then are going to a pumkin patch. Kelly has Tuesday's off, and we have been scrapbooking,but are ready for a break. Tonight Trey has Awana Club at church, so the rest of the day will probably go fast too.

Taking a Break

This last month I have been busy with apples. I think we have picked about 14 bushels and I have been making applesauce! They are the nicest apples we have ever had off our tree, so it is actually very fun! But I'm taking a break until later this week. Right now I am in Ankeny and enjoying some scrapbooking, reading ,shopping and helping take care of Trey. Kevin is gone on a Boundary Waters trip, so I'm here so I can pick Trey up at school and spend time with him until Kelly gets home from work. Tomorrow I get to go to Trey's classroom and be a mystery reader. I'll keep you posted as to what fun things we do here.

The Twins are Growing!!

Some of you haven't seen Cole and Erica for a while, so I'll post pictures taken on Sunday. They are getting SO big! Erica is bigger than Cole, but Cole is doing more stuff. He rolls and rolls, from one room to another and he is getting places doing the army crawl. Erica doesn't move around as much , but can be content sitting in the highchair or walker. It's hard to believe they are almost 6 months old.

Princess is 3!

Today is Breanna's 3rd birthday. She had a Princess cake and her crown made her a real Princess. We had a little party for her last night, and today was her special day. She was over this afternoon and is still wearing her crown and playing with her princesses dolls. She is a very active 3 year old, and has a great imagination. She has a couple of imaginary friends, who do a lot of different things with her. Today she saw them on a school bus. She is a big helper with Cole and Erica.

Our baby Aubyn is really getting around! She is crawling and standing up by things now and has her first teeth! It's a little bit difficult at home right now, as Greg and Angie have moved and there is no carpet on the floor in the living area, and they are painting. Not a place for Aubyn to be! But the basement is carpeted and has lots of open area. She is not our Baby any more!

Brave Breanna

Last weekend Breanna got to camp overnight with grandma and grandma. While out for a walk we found this black animal. Can't decide if it was a bear or cougar. Breanna was first a little scared, but we when assured her it wasn't real, she eventually petted it. When mommy and daddy came later, she had to take them to see it too. We camped at the new Rock Valley camp ground, and had such a relaxing time. It is a beautiful campground, with bike trails, a swimming area and a fishing area. All the camping pads are concrete and there is also a playground for the kids. In addition to all that I also got to scrapbook and read, so it was a GREAT weekend.

One of the highlights from vacation for Trey, is that he lost his first tooth. He has his permanent teeth coming in, but still has his baby teeth. So it was OK that it came out. When he learned that Grandma was a tooth fairy, he wondered if she still had her job at the bank. I had to tell him yes, I am only the tooth fairy when needed. He also loved been able to play with his cousins, and being at the lake and beach. He loved to tube. It's hard to believe that in just a couple of weeks he will start kindergarten.

Enjoying the 4th

Mark and I camped at Dave and Sara over the weekend. It was the 2nd annual 4th of July camp out. We have a lot of fun, mostly working, but also a little playing. I actual had to spend all of the evening of the 4th by myself. The electricity at a hog building went off, so Mark and Dave had to go there, and Sara and the kids were at a shower, so that left me home alone. Not quite what I had in mind, but oh well. We did a lot of cleaning up around Dave's place. Torn down an old building, dug up an old flower bed, cleaned the garage, and trimmed some trees. We cooked by a fire one night and got to help lots with the babies. As you can see they are really growing. Our whole family is going on our family vacation later this week. We are excited to get to spend some time with everyone again. It will be busy, with 6 kids under 5 years old this year. Hopefully we will have some fun pictures to post.

Drew and Aubyn got to help Grandma celebrate her birthday today. Drew thinks Grandma's cupcakes taste very good, and when his stomach growls he thinks that is what he needs. Drew and Aubyn are spending a few days at Grandpa and Grandma's house, while their Daddy and Mommy are on a short vacation. The morning started kinds of early, but everyone got good naps this afternoon (including Grandma)

Today was Baptism Day for Cole and Erica. Erica had to be taken out of church 2 times before the baptism, but did OK after that. Family and friends had a delicious lunch at church. Lots of pictures were taken, but I'll just share a few.

Spring has Come!!

It is finally nice weather!!! Now Grandma can work outside when she isn't taken care of any grandchildren. And we can play outside!!!! It is going to be a fun summer, if the weather stays nice! Aubyn loves to be outside and liked the swing on Wednesday. The twins continue to grow. Erica is now smiling when you talk to her and Cole is trying to talk when you talk to him. They still take require a lot of attention, so keep me busy when I take care of them. They will be baptised on Sunday, so hopefully we will have pictures to post after that.

Almost 8 weeks old

Saturday Cole and Erica with be 8 weeks old already. Today they were to the Dr. for their 2 month checkup and to get their first shots. They are both over 10 pounds! They are growing well. They are sleeping much better, sometimes all night. So, things are getting a little easier. It's still a lttle difficult when they are both not happy at he same time, but overall it's getting better. Cole is smiling a lot and Erica smiled today while at the Dr., so lots of first to keep track of.

Saturday was Trey's 5th birthday. Grandpa and Grandma went to Ankeny to be at Trey's birthday party. Trey had a sports themed cake and is excited about the basketball hoop daddy and mommy got him. It's hard to believe Trey is 5 and will be going to kindergarten starting in August. We had a fun time seeing him again and playing the new games he got for his birthday.

What a Day!!!

Monday was a day out for the twins! It started early. The goal was to leave at 7:30 (A.M.!!!) We didn't excately make that, but we still made it to Sioux Falls in time for Erica's appointment. She needed an ultra sound to check her hip, because of the position she was in before birth. It looks like everything is OK. By the time that was over, it was time to eat for Erica and Cole. We were in a nice little waiting room, so just did it there, but took an hour for feeding and diaper chages. Then we found something to eat for the rest of us, and Sara looked for music for baptism, and it was time for Sara's checkup. Then it was time to feed again. But at 3:30 we got to the mall to do a little shopping. The babies we really pretty good, considering what we were putting them through. They took good naps, not always at the same time, but at least if one was crying, the other wasn't. We got back home about 8:45, and decided we would not be doing this weekly. HaHa. I think it will be a lot easier if Grandma just stays home with everyone and gives Sara a real day off occasionally. We had lots of people who would look at the babies and smile. It's pretty obvious, when they see a double stroller coming down the aisle.

Grandma was busy today. This morning I was over at Dave and Sara. I have been going there on Wed. mornings so Sara can get out and get groceries. It's a busy time, just taking care of Cole and Erica. They take little naps, but then have to be fed or changed or just taken care of. Breanna was home today too, and she required some attention, as she thought she was in charge , not Grandma! Then at noon Drew and Aubyn came for the afternoon. We all got naps, or relaxed as Drew thinks, and did lots of playing. Aubyn is really growing and is a very good baby. I can't imagine how different life would be, without these little lifes!

The twins are 2 weeks old already! They had a check up on Thursday and are gaining weight, so that is good. Things are getting better everyday. There really isn't a schedule, but feedings times are getting further apart. Sara's mother was helping until Thursday, and then I was there until Saturday evening. They are wanting to see if they can handle it alone this week. So I will go there for a couple of hours in the morning, before I go to work, to get Breanna out of bed and fed, and get Sara through the first morning feeding. Here are a couple of pictures of today. They were able to go to church and stop by Grandpa and Grandma's house.

Celebrating Easter!

We were able to celebrate Easter as a family Sunday night. It was a great family time, all being together! The babies got lots of attention. We were able to take a 4 generation picture for Aubyn, and other family pictures as you can see.You can see how little the twins are, when you see them next to Aubyn, who is 10 weeks old already. I had to go back to work on Monday,but will be spending time at Dave and Sara on the weekend. Nights are getting a little bit better, but there is still lots of adjusting happening.

Cool Egg Hunt

Today was the Egg Hunt at the Maurice Park. The candy in the eggs was a real treat. The kids didn't mind that the weather was cool. There were even snow showers throughout the day. We may have another egg hunt tomorrow when the whole family is together for supper. It's hard to beleive that a week ago is when Cole and Erica were born. Sara isn't getting much sleep, but everything else is going well.

Wednesday was a busy day at Grandma's house. Trey was here, Breanna was here, and Drew and Aubyn were here. All at the same time. Needless to say, I did not get a nap!! Nap time was a little bit of a chore, but 3 got naps. Trey got to see Aubyn for the first time and thought her hiccups were funny. I don't think our house is going to be big enough when all 6 get a little bigger!!!

Dave and Sara were able to bring the twins home Tuesday afternoon. Breanna was very excited to see them all at home. Also excited was Trey. Trey is at Grandma and Grandpas house this week. He was very proud to be able to hold them both. It's quite a lapful when you hold them both! There will be a few days? weeks? of adjustment and getting on a schedule. Dave is home for the rest of the week, so that should help. They have to go back to Sioux Falls tomorrow to have Erica's navel checked. It is a little red. Pray that she doesn't get an infection.

A wake up call this morning, let us know that the babies wanted to be born today. Sara's water broke, so they were soon on their way to Sioux Falls. The arrival times were 11:23 and 11:24 with Cole being born first. We were able to see and hold them tonight. They are very precious. Enjoy the pictures!

Aubyn was baptised today at church. She was so good. I only heard her cry once. We enjoyed a delicious lunch with family and friends. It was easy to tell Aubyn was the center of attention.

I can't believe that Aubyn is 7 weeks old already! With all the winter weather and winter health conditions, we haven't been able to see her very much. But Wednesday she got to spend time at Grandpa and Grandma's house with Drew and Breanna. She was very good! Breanna thought it was pretty nice to have her there and wanted to be Grandma's helper to take care of her. She will be a great BIG sister in less than a month.

I can't believe it's been almost 3 weeks since the last update. It seems we have had a lot of winter weather in that time. We do have a new picture of Aubyn, which we took on Sunday. I love her big blue eyes. They think she has acid reflex, so she isn't a real content little girl. But she is still fun to have around. In just a few short weeks the twins could be born. Sara had another check up today, and she continues to do well. They think the babies are around 4 pounds, so there are growing well. It's still difficult to imagine what that is going to be like. But it will be fun!!!

REMEMBER WHEN?

I did this when I was a little girl, and even when I was a big girl. Yesterday Breanna helped me make a cake and wanted to lick the beaters. It made a mess, even got some on her pajamas, but it was worth it. Don't have anymore pictures of Aubyn, as we haven't been able to see her again. When they got out of the hospital on Friday, Drew had developed croup,so Angie and Aubyn were advised not to go home. They were at Angies parents until Tuesday night, so we are hoping to see her again soon. She did get a little jaundice, but that count is coming down now too. So hopefully things will get a little more normal at their house now. Drew is also doing much better.

We have a new granddaughter!!! Aubyn Marie joined our family Wednesday, January 9 at 11:12 P.M. As you can tell by the pictures she is precious! Drew was a little surprised this afternoon, to learn that she will be living in his house. There could be a few interesting days. But I'm sure he will soon love her very much.

One of the things I enjoy about Christmas is the Christmas music. Yesterday I was able to enjoy that in a special way. Our Christmas gift to each other was going to a Lori Line concert in Sioux Falls. For those of you who do not know, Lori is a pianist that has a holiday tour with her pop chamber orchestra. She gave a great concert, that included the Christmas story, which she said the world so badly needs. The concert included some humor, and had all the children come on stage and be a part of the 12 days of Christmas song. As you can see by the picture, they were all able to get in custome. It was a great way to continue to prepare for Christmas day

Christmas at Grandpa and Grandma

It wasn't easy, but we got the yearly picture on the stair steps. We had a fun weekend, as we celebrated our family Christmas this weekend. Kevin and Kelly and Trey came on Thursday and left this afternoon. We were able to eat lots of food, play lots of games and have lots of laughs. The three cousins played well together and had lots of fun when they found the Easter eggs. The eggs were hid several times and the adults even had fun finding them.

After a delicious ham dinner we played a card game, while Drew played his own version of cards. Then we drove to Ankeny to spend the rest of the weekend. Yes, that is snow you see on the ground. The snow came on Wednesday and is still here today on Friday. It didn't keep any shoppers home though. The parking lots were full all day. Everyone went out for a little shopping throughout the day. We are playing lots of games and even playing in the snow a little bit.

Point of Grace

One of our favorite singing groups is Point of Grace. We have been able to hear them a couple of times, and last night was another special time. They gave a concert in Sioux Center at Dordt College. It was a great concert! We were able to hear some of their new songs and lot of our old favorites. Guess what music is playing at our house today? Point of Grace of course!

Trick or Treat!

Breanna was a cute turtle. and Drew was Elmo, but we didn't really do much trick or treating. Drew decided he didn't want Halloween. So instead of fighting with tears, we said OK. Who really needs all that candy anyway!

Monkeys?

No, they are not monkeys, it's just Drew and Breanna, who like to climb. Wednesday was a beautiful day, so after naps we were able to spend a little time outside. As you can tell by the pictures they like to spend time together. Napping was a little difficult yesterday, but we had lots of smiles afterward, so it was worth while. Breanna also got to ride in the combine with Grandpa yesterday, but I forgot to put the memory card in the camera, so I couldn't get a picture. Can you believe I would do a thing like that!!?Hopefully we can do that again and get a picture next time!

Never a Dull Moment!

Breanna kept things interesting today at Grandma's house. After I had her go potty, she said Violet (her doll) had to go potty too. And Violet had to be fed. She got carrots. Breanna likes to say hello to Grandpa on the phone, just pretend of course! Drew and Breanna are sitting on the couch watching a video. That was their reward for picking up all the toys. We missed being able to go outside, because of the wet weather.

Back to Work

No pictures today. Grandma had to go back to work, both at home and at the bank. It was great having a few days off and just being able to see through the eyes of a child. I got to be reminded, that Peanut Butter and Jelly sandwiches are a great lunch, and that I make really good applesauce. Trey would eat it for breakfast, lunch and supper if I let him. It was a fun 10 days, but all good things must end. Tomorrow will be a normal Grandma day, with Breanna and Drew. Hopefully it will be sunny so we can go outside. It's been a couple rainy, wet days.

One More Sleep

Trey is in bed for one more sleep. That's what he says, when he ask him how long he is going to stay here. Tomorrow we will meet his mommy, so he can go home. It has been a fun week. Today was another big day. Trey and I went to Oak Grove State Park for a picnic lunch, walked some trails, threw some rocks, found deer tracks, and then went and rode in the combine with Grandpa again. Tonight we went back to the field and brought the men supper. Needless to say, he was very tired when I put him in bed.

Wednesday was a fun day at the farm. Trey got to play with his cousins! Breanna came this morning and we played in the house, and when Drew came this afternoon, we were outside a little. Everyone got to feed the cats and after naps we got to have a cookie. Tonight Drew and Trey went to Pioneer Club and got to decorate their pumpkins, go for a hayrack ride, and have a snack and hear a story about how God made everyone special. What a day!

This morning Trey got to sit in Uncle Dave's BIG truck. Dave was delivering feed near by, so we went over and watched. Trey thought it was pretty cool to blow the air horn, and wanted to know what all the other buttons were for.

We got to to see the animals and pick out a pumpkin for Pioneer Club. Trey didn't want to get to close to the goats, and he was even a little shy with the scarecrow. Trey thought it was fun to see the animals and got to pick out his own pumpkin.

Every boy should be able should be able to climb a tree, right? Well, this isn't as bad as it looks. They are only about 3 feet from the ground, and Grandma is close by. Trey is spending a few days at the farm and is having lots of fun playing with his cousins. We are going to spend a lot of time outside, if the weather stays nice.

We enjoyed a day at the Omaha Zoo, back in August. Even though it was a hot day, we had a great time! The gorilla/ape section was a lot of fun to watch. We laughed at how funny they were. I was glad they were in an enclosed area, and couldn't reach out and grab us. Trey liked the rabbit he found in gorilla cage outside and the warthogs. We also liked watching the penguins.

Breanna Turns Two

Breanna recently celebrated her second birthday. She is growing up so fast! She has quite a vocabulary and is a great climber! She loves books and can read them back to you, after she hears them a few times. Breanna spends Wednesdays at Grandpa and Grandma's house. She loves to be outside and help Grandma feed the cats.

This is a picture of the 3 grandchildren. Trey is 4 , Drew is 3 and Breanna is 2. The picture was taken on our family vacation this summer. They aren't all together very often, but when they are, there is lots of running and laughing. They bring lots of joy and laughter to our family!
